Before Your iPhone Repair
A few checks before visiting can make diagnosis quicker and reduce avoidable risk.
1. Back up important data
Use iCloud or a computer backup where possible. A repair is not a substitute for a backup.
2. Know the exact model
Use Settings → General → About, or retrieve the model information from your Apple account if the display cannot be used.
3. Describe the full history
Mention drops, liquid exposure, previous repairs, intermittent faults and anything that changed immediately before the problem appeared.
4. Remove unnecessary accessories
Keep cases, cards and detachable accessories unless they are relevant to the fault.
5. Protect your credentials
Never send Apple ID passwords, bank details or one-time authentication codes. If testing requires device access, agree a safe approach with the technician.
6. Confirm the repair terms
Before chargeable work starts, confirm the repair option, price, expected turnaround and warranty.
